Adele Dedicates BRIT Awards 2016 Win To Kesha
Kesha just received some support from the biggest star in the recording industry – Adele.
The British singer picked up the award for Best British Female Solo Artist at Wednesday night’s BRIT Awards and dedicated her trophy to Kesha.
The 27-year-old thanked her management for letting her ’embrace the fact that I am a woman’ before adding ‘and I would like to take this moment to publicly support Kesha.’
Adele is currently the biggest and most profitable artist signed to Sony, the same label that last week won a court battle against Kesha when she tried to leave their artist roster because she claims she was raped and drugged by producer Dr. Luke.
Kesha commented on the case Wednesday, saying in a letter to fans; ‘All I ever wanted was to be able to make music without being afraid, scared, or abused. This case has never been about a renegotiation of my record contract – it was never about getting a bigger, or a better deal.
‘This is about being free from my abuser. I would be willing to work with Sony if they do the right thing and break all ties that bind me to my abuser.
