Mariah Carey Publicly Addresses Dreadful NYE Performance For The First Time
Mariah Carey ended 2016 on somewhat of an embarrassing note, and now, for the first time, she has publicly addressed the issues surrounding her NYE performance in Time Square.
In an audio recording released on her Twitter account, the pop singer took the opportunity to thank her supporters for standing by her during this trying time. She also announced that she would be taking a break from the media and social media.
During the recording, Carey also promises to go into further detail regarding the incident at a later date, but for now she wanted to share her perspective on the matter.
She said, “It’s not practical for a singer to sing live and be able to hear themselves properly in the middle of Times Square with all the noise, the freezing cold, the smoke from the smoke machines, and thousands of people celebrating, especially when their ear monitors are not working properly.”
She then went on to insinuate the production company at the event had intentionally set her up and had publicly humiliated her.
