What you can not do is come for Lil Wayne and think all will be swell.
A pressing legal battle between Birdman and Lil Wayne, that has been going on for a little over two years, has drawn the emotions out of some of Hollywood’s heavy hitters. Rick Ross himself to be at the top of that list. With his ninth studio album Rather You Than Me only hours from release the Bawse took it upon himself to address Birdman directly and show continuing support for the Weezy F. Baby. In Ross’ latest single to drop from the new album “Idols Become Rivals” he says the following on Birdman, “I used to see you n****s on my TV screen/And wonder what was life like, was it all a dream?/And then I met you on them Live Nation dates/Came to the realization that your watch was fake” the Dade County native continues later in the song with, “You would give us self-esteem and motivate our drive/But was in our pocket by the time we count to five/I pray you find the kindness in your heart for Wayne/His entire life he gave you what that was the game/I watched that whole debacle so I’m part to blame/Last request, can all producers please get paid”.
Pretty heavy stuff, we know. Ricky Rosay took a more sentimental approach to his friend Wayne. Posting a picture of the once YMCMB star with the caption, “The Level of respect and Love that I have for WAYNE makes it hard to sit back and not speak on the situation. The streets need you.Being a Boss means having the courage to say the things everybody thinking but scared to say.I can’t wait for you to hear it.Midnight. #idolsbecomerivals” Wanye was not hesitant to respond on twitter, and seemed to appreciate the Boss’ gesture, “d*m big bro that msg hit me in the heart and put the motivation on automatik start. I needed that. 1 boss 2 another.” This is definitely an awe moment given the recent stress Wayne’s been going through. Plus, it’s always nice to know you have a friend!
