Last year BET swung for the bleachers and did not miss with their New Edition Story, and have given the green light for even more musical history to grace out screens. In part with their efforts to bring Nas' biopic to life, they have also given the green light to a six episode series called the Death Row Chronicles.
Suge Knight who was a co-founder of the label will be covered in the series. It's history, and the story of it's members and artist. The story will also cover the death of the gone too gone rapper Tupac. Tupac was signed to Death Row Record in the vent of his untimely death. As explained by Billboard you can expect a show that's, "part true-crime murder mystery and part hip-hop drama".
Each episode will be an hour long and will focus around the build and demise of the empire of a label. The filming for the series is set to start in the spring of 2017 and is pushing to air in the summer of 2018.
