Way to dodge a bullet! The Florida rapper, Kodak Black, appeared in court and walk out with a sentence that has blown the minds of many!
Back in April we reported that Kodak had been found guilty of violating his parole FIVE TIMES, and awaited his sentence. Fans were shaking because the rapper was possibly facing up to eight years in prison with no chance of parole. Kodak was able to breath easy when the judge sentenced the "Tunnel Vision" rapper to 364 days in county jail! If that wasn't shocking enough, the rapper has the opportunity to be released in one month if he successfully completes life skills courses while in jail. Talk about never being late for class!
The father and musician catches his break after firing his two original attorneys and picking up Brad Cohen. A decision that was assisted by Atlantic Records. Yes, you read right, Atlantic Records sent a rep to Kodak's court appearance to propose on the rapper's behalf. Basically noting that they are aware of Kodak's actions and will take the necessary steps to lower his sentence and get him on the right track. This is a big deal, because records labels don't usually bat for their artist, showing that Kodak is a huge asset to the company!
Kodak poured his heart out to friends, fans, and family for his life mistakes. His record label has even gone so far as to hire a full time mentor and advisor to help Kodak in such a tough transition in life.
