CORPUS CHRISTI, TX – AUGUST 25: Amy Currin watches the weather news on her cell phone after the power went out at the TownePlace Suites hotel where she was taking shelter from Hurricane Harvey at a place she felt was safer than her home on August 25, 2017 in Corpus Christi, Texas. Hurricane Harvey has intensified into a hurricane and is aiming for the Texas coast with the potential for up to 3 feet of rain and 125 mph winds.

Florida State Sen. Daphne Campbell is under fire for calling in help to make sure her mother's lights were turned back on before anyone else... the day after Irma hit.

On Monday she texted a lobbiest with Florida Power and Light asking for help with her mother's residence and coincidentally her mother got power that same day.

But neighbors are mad! Everyone else in the neighborhood still has no power (8 days later) and they're still waiting to get electricity turned back on.
