North Michigan University is offering students the opportunity to get a degree in marijuana.
The medicinal plant chemistry degree mixes classes in chemistry, biology, botany, horticulture, marketing and financing. Students won’t be growing marijuana plants in the program, but will work with medicinal plants such as ginseng root and mint.
The students will learn how to measure and remove compounds in plants that can be used for medicinal purposes and apply that knowledge to marijuana.
