Russell Simmons Leaving Def Jam After New Sexual Assault Allegations
It’s a new day and new allegations are claiming the career of another mogul, Russell Simmons.
The newest allegations come from director, Sidney Lumet’s daughter, Jenny Lumet who is a film maker. She is claiming that Russell raped her in the early 90s in Manhattan. The incident took place when he offered her a ride to her apartment but instead locked her in his car and took her to his residence against her will. Apparently he forced himself on her a few times that night before taking her to his bedroom and raping her. Lumet told The Hollywood Reporter, “I made the trade in my mind. I thought, ‘just keep him calm and you’ll get home.’
Simmons recalls the night going another way but apologized and takes responsibility for her feeling intimidated and in fear.
Lummet is not the only woman to come forward with these allegations. Model, Keri Claussen Khalighi also came forward accusing him of rape in the 90s.
