One of the most asked questions in movie history, “why didn’t Rose let Jack on the door in Titanic?” has been answered.

Since 1997, Titanic fans have asked themselves why the heck rose didn’t move over a little and let Jack on the door and let him live. Now, Billy Zane has answered the notorious question for us.

According to Complex, Zane said, “Your hero had to die, I don’t know what else would have done it. It had to happen.”

Zane played the character, Cal Hockley in the award-winning movie.
