Disney let Gunn go because of tweets Gunn had done between 2008 and 2012 that made fun of pedophilia and child abuse.
When it first happened cast member responded sporadically, but now the cast has issued a letter on behalf of all of them in support of Gunn being rehired to direct the franchise.
People at Variety seem tho think that since Disney hasn't named a replacement for Gunn that may mean that they will possibly bring him back.
