Officials with the Richland 1 School District said they made the big decision because heavy traffic is expected from the upcoming concert. The district said in a statement that they worry if the schools dismiss at their regular times, things will be chaotic as buses will get caught in heavy traffic going to the show.
“The early dismissal schedule will help reduce the likelihood that buses with routes that go through or near that area will be delayed by the traffic,” noted a district rep in an email to students and parents.
