As musicians and celebs flooded into the venue, Cardi B took home the first award of the night, Song of the Summer. That wasn’t the only award she would take home, either. By the night’s end she would also take home the award for Best New Artist. Okurrr…
Cardi B also kicked off the show teasing that we were going to see her 5-week-old baby girl Kulture for the first time. Joke was on us though, it was a Moon Person wrapped up in the blanket.
Logic and Ryan Tedder used their performance of “One Day” to make a pro-immigration statement.

Post Malone was living his best life at the show and took home a Moon Person for Song of the Year for “rockstar,” but Posty wasn’t quite done yet…
Nicki Minaj, winner of Best Hip-Hop Video, took her Cleopatra-inspired performance offsite to The Occulus to perform a medley including “Majesty,” “Barbie Dreams,” and “Fefe.”

Continuing the strong performances from female artists, Ariana Grande performed “God is a Woman.” Grande was surrounded by 50 female dancers and at the end brought her Nonna, mother and cousin on stage for a bow.

Travis Scott did not disappoint with his performance of “Stargazing” / “Stop Trying To Be God” / “Sicko Mode” featuring James Blake.

Post Malone, decked out in a smiley-face suit, showed he is here to stay with his performance of “rockstar” with 21 Savage. Post then picked up a guitar and introduced Aerosmith. Such an unlikely collaboration, but it worked!
