Calvin Harris and Sam Smith Party With Drag Queens in ‘Promises’ Music Video
Sam Smith just released a new video with the help of Calvin Harris called “Promises.” The new video celebrates the gay ballroom culture, in particular vogueing.
Smith is a regular at gay clubs like London’s Horse Meat Disco and worked with director Emil Nava to show his love of gay clubbing and culture. The video starts with fans of ballroom events explaining what they love about the scene, ‘It’s just like that let go, of like, not having to be somebody that I don’t want to be at that time.’
‘Finding vogue, it allowed me to express myself in a way that I couldn’t express anywhere else,’ said another devotee.
The video also was filmed partially in Los Angeles and features model, Winnie Harlow. Sam took to Twitter to share his excitement for the new video, ‘Never had so much fun shooting a video.’ tweeted Smith.
