Photos recently went viral of the former ‘Cosby Show’ actor, Geoffrey Owens, working at Trader Joe’s.

Many shamed and teased the actor for his job, and then others jumped in angry that anyone would be shamed for working hard. It really was a social media war!

Well the women who took the pictures has finally spoken out and is apologizing, and letting the world know it wasn’t her intent to “shame” him.

Via The Shade Room:
NJ.com sat down with Karma Lawrence, the woman who snuck the photo of the actor inside of the grocery store. In the interview, she revealed that she has been getting so much hate since the photos have spread.

She said, “I don’t know why I snuck a picture. I figured everybody does it. I don’t know what possessed me. I just did it. I didn’t even think about it. I just kind of did it on impulse and it was a bad impulse.”

She says she didn’t know that the photos would stir up the act of job shaming. In fact, she said that she loves Trader Joe’s and sees no shame in Owens working there. She actually thought because he was working there his
residuals may have been cut because of everything surrounding Bill Cosby.

“It wasn’t malicious. That’s on my kids, my grandkids, my parents. I’m not that type of a person. I’m not the monster they’re making me out to be,” said Lawrence.

She also revealed that since the incident, she has turned off all of her social media accounts, and it has been hard for her to sleep knowing that she unintentionally hurt one of her favorite characters from the Cosby Show.

If given the chance to speak with Owens, Lawrence said, “I would tell him, ‘I am extremely, extremely apologetic about what has happened, and if I could take it back, I would.”
