Kenan Thompson sheds some light on a recent controversial joke told by SNL co-star Pete Davidson.
Davidson hasn't had the easiest run lately, after the separation from his fiancé Ariana Grande, and having to laugh at his own pain by making jokes about it on SNL.Now he's facing backlash after telling a joke about a wounded army vet.
Davidson was on one of the most popular SNL skits 'Weekend Update' in which he told a joke about Dan Crenshaw, US House Candidate. According to Hot New Hip Hop Crenshaw was wounded by an explosive device while at war and now has to wear an eyepatch, which is what Davidson made his joke about;
"You may be surprised to hear he’s a congressional candidate in Texas and not a hitman in a porno movie. I’m sorry, I know he lost his eye in war, or whatever.”
The joke didn't sit well with many people, and while on a press run for his new film "The Grinch" Kenan Thompson was asked about the controversial joke.
#SNL's Kenan Thompson reacts to his co-star Pete Davidson's joke about a wounded vet, saying it's "never somewhere I would go": "Pete's a good kid, he has a big heart … I definitely don't think he goes out to offend people, but unfortunately that's what happened in this case." pic.twitter.com/ioiIVd2C8y
