Domestic Violence Victims Can Now Qualify For Unemployment Benefits In Florida
Surviving domestic violence is most times never the end. Their attackers will come after them, sometimes at their workplace, so for some survivors work is no longer a safe place.
A new state law is trying take away that stress by allowing victims to qualify for unemployment benefits. Mindy Murphy who is president Of The Spring Of Tampa Bay says “If an abuser knows where her workplace is, and knows what time she comes and goes, that creates a perfect opportunity for him to find her and potentially harm her.” That is exactly why this law is a game changer for victims.
