"I think I commented on something about him breaking a hit record or something and was like 'Oh my gosh, I love you, Chris.' Rowland said in an interview. "Next thing I knew, I came up under all this scrutiny."
The backlash toward Kelly came from people who thought she supported "colorism" because on Brown's album he has a lyric on a song that says, "Only wanna f*** the black b**ches with real hair."
Rowland said at the time she was praising him for something else.
