Due to a New York law, the hit and run driver that killed Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner’s dog, will not be charged.
The couple’s dog, Waldo, an Alaskan Klee Kai was struck and killed by a car in NYC. The driver did not stop, leaving the scene.
The driver can not be criminally charged because the dog is considered property making the incident an accident. But they can take the driver to civil court.
It is not uncommon in NYC for driver’s to be unaware that they hit something and keep going.
