Ciara, Angela Bassett, Regina King & More to be Honored at BET’s 2019 Black Girls Rock Awards
BET’s 2019 Black Girls Rock ceremony is slated to commence and be recorded on Sunday, August 25 at the New Jersey Performing Arts Center.
Actress and comedian Niecy Nash will be hosting the event that is centered around celebrating the magic and achievement of black women.
Oscar-nominated actress Angela Bassett will be presented with the Icon Award. Others to be honored at the ceremony are Ciara, H.E.R., Regina King, Debra Martin Chase, Sybrina Fulton, Geneva Reed Veal, Gwen Carr, Lucy McBath, Maria Hamilton, and Cleopatra Pendelton-Cowley.
Ciara will be honored with the Rock Star Award while H.E.R. will be saluted with the Young Gifted and Black Award.
Oscar, Golden Globe, and Emmy Award-winning actress and director Regina King will be celebrated with the Star Power Award.
The Shot Caller honor will be presented to Chase, and Fulton, Reed Veal, Carr, McBath, Hamilton, and Pendleton-Cowley will all be receiving the Mothers of the Movement Award.
The 2019 Black Girls Rock ceremony airs on September 8 on BET at 8 p.m. ET.
