Before Destiny’s Child became the original quartet (Beyonce, Kelly Rowland, Latavia Roberson, and LeToya Luckett) the world was introduced to they were a six-member ensemble who went by the name Girl’s Tyme.

Formed in 1990, Girl’s Tyme included Destiny’s Child’s original members Beyonce, Rowland, and Roberson along with three other young girls.

Following a loss on the former popular TV show Star Search which garnered the young singers national attention, Girls Tyme changed their name to Destiny’s Child.

The music that was recorded under DC’s previous moniker Girls Tyme was “locked in a vault” until recently. Now the 15-track album that’s presented as Destiny’s Child: The Untold Story Presents Girls Tyme is available on streaming platforms to accompany the book that can be ordered on Knowles’ website.
