Texas Teen Is BANNED From His Own Graduation And Suspended From School Unless He Cuts His Dreadlocks
A senior who is supposed to be graduating soon won’t be able too because he’s refusing to cut his dreadlocks. The school located in Texas has had a policy since day one about hair cuts and styles.
The wants to celebrate his Trinidadian roots but the school’s dress code says that men can not have long hair. Anything longer than the collar on the shirt is banned.
So far he’s received an in-school suspension and was told he could no longer walk in his graduation unless he cuts his hair. Activists from Black Lives Matter and the United Urban Alumni Association showed up at a recent school board meeting to defend the teen.
