During the video Madonna talks about how COVID-19 is “the great equalizer” as the virus “doesn’t care about how rich, famous or funny you are.”
Although she's right about the virus affecting litterly everyone, the “Material Girl” went on to quote a line she recites after singing her song Human Nature, “if the ship goes down, we’re all going down together.” She also posted a picture of her with rose petals on her nipples.
Many of Madonna’s biggest fans didn’t agree with her, saying that the less fortunate would suffer more than she would. Others accused the singer of letting her privilege show and not thinking of those who are getting by with the bare essentials.
