Florida Is Processing Unemployment Claims Slower Than Any Other State
According to reports only $40,000 residents have been paid out of the 1.5 million people who filed for unemployment in Florida. Hollywood unlocked tells us that that is less than 3 percent of the filers. Florida’s Department of Economic Opportunity argues that many of those applications may be duplicates or ineligible applicants. They say that have verified at least 650,000 applications. Other states like California,Texas and New York had about two third of their claims backlogged. In florida for ever 8 people who filed, 7 of them are waiting to be processed.
