Tampa Bay Rays star pitcher Blake Snell made news yesterday because he thinks playing baseball while getting a pay cut isn’t worth it during the pandemic.
The 27-year-old is concerned about the long-term health damage he could have if he did have the coronavirus.
“The risk is way the hell higher and the amount of money I’m making is way lower. Why the hell would I think about doing that?. It’s not worth it. I love baseball and that, but it’s just not worth it.”
The MLB wants players to take another pay cut because they will only be playing 82 games.
Snell was going to make $7 million for the 2020 campaign and was very upset about the MLB’s plan for a 50-50 split of reduced revenues this year.
