Right now, it’s hard to think of anyone else as Captain America other than Chris Evans.
He actually turned down the role several times before accepting it.
Evans recently said that he suffered from panic attacks and anxiety as his star rose in Hollywood during the boom in social media.
After turning down the role many times, Marvel kept pursuing Evans. Evans discussed the decision with Robert Downey Jr., his family, and a therapist. They all told him not to make decisions based on fear. Evans said accepting that philosophy “was the best decision I’ve ever made.”
