Idaho Offers $1,500 To Residents Who End Unemployment Benefits
Idaho officials have come up with a plan to get people making a mint from inflated unemployment benefits to return to work: They’re offering them a $1,500 bonus.
The offer comes amid complaints that current unemployment payments — which have been enhanced on a federal level to help residents who were furloughed due to coronavirus shutdowns — have left many U.S. residents unwilling to return to their jobs.
White House economic adviser Larry Kudlow says the idea is also being considered on a national level. “We want people to go back to work,” he says. “The president is looking at a reform measure that will still provide some kind of bonus for returning to work.”
