Seattle Bans Use of Tear Gas, Pepper Spray, and Chokeholds
As many across the country call for police reform the Seattle City Council has unanimously come to a decision to ban police from using tear gas, chokeholds, and pepper spray.
A decision that came after the Mayor of Seattle promised that tear gas wouldn’t be used against people protesting about the death of George Floyd.
Seattle Police Chief Carmen Best has gone on record saying that she’s reached out to the International Association of Chiefs of Police for other effective ways of crowd control for the future.
