Vanessa Bryant Urging Helicopter Safety Bill Named After Late NBA Legend
Vanessa Bryant is urging lawmakers to pass the Kobe and Gianna Bryant Helicopter Safety Act, requiring helicopters that carry six or more people to carry safety equipment that she says could “save many lives”.
Lawmakers introduced the bill on Thursday and received immediate vocal support from Kobe’s widow. Bryant believes that her legendary NBA husband and young daughter may still be alive if their crashed chopper carried safety equipment like a Terrain Awareness and Warning System, a flight data recorder and a voice recorder on choppers.
TMZ reports that the pilot of the fatal January 26th crash may have been disoriented in dense fog that day.
