Florida Business Owner Arrested After Using Covid Relief Loan To Buy A Lamborghini
According to NBC news, David T Hines from Miami was arrested and charged with bank fraud after he purchased a Lambo with Covid Relief loan money. Documents tell us that David applied for a $13.4 million paycheck protection loan. He filed applications on behalf of different companies that reportedly included false statements about employee payroll expenses. Hines falsely claimed that his companies paid millions of dollars in payroll during the first quarter of 2020. The bank records however show little to no payroll expense during that time. In the end the bank ended up approving a $3.9 million loan, and with that money he went and purchased a Lamborghini among other things.
