Rabid Bat Bites Woman In Carrollwood
A woman in Hillsborough County is getting treatment after being bit by a bat.
According to reports, the woman was walking around her neighborhood in Carrollwood at night when she saw a bat on the ground. When She picked the bat off the sidewalk, it bit her on the finger.
Unfortunately the bat tested positive for rabies. The Department Of Health says that this is the counties second confirmed case of rabies in 2020. Health officials are warning people to not handle, feed or unintentionally attract wild animals.
Also, never adopt wild animals or bring them into your home.
