16 Hillsborough Men Including Former Sergeant Were Arrested For Trying To Solicit Sex From Minors

A former sergeant with the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office was among 16 people arrested in a sting targeting child predators in Hillsborough County. The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office is going to share more details from “Operation Small Talk,” at a press conference that is happening today. Deputies said 16 men tried to arrange meetings for sex with undercover detectives they believed were minors. Sheriff Chad Chronister released a statement saying “The repulsive behavior and messages from these 16 suspects arrested were across the board. In some cases, when they showed up to meet these fake teens, they even brought products with them in anticipation of sex. Among those arrested were a former Manatee County Sheriff’s Office sergeant and a member of the Army Reserve.
