Rap royalty gathered in the Bronx for the groundbreaking of the Universal Hip Hop Museum! They wanted it in the Bronx because it’s the genre’s birthplace and home of rap icons like Grandmaster Flash, Slick Rick and Fat Joe.
LL Cool J, Nas, Fat Joe and more came together to unveil of a $349 million South Bronx development that will include a museum and 500 permanent affordable housing units.
Rapper Grandmaster Flash choked up as he recalled his early days. All of them gathered together, grabbed the shovel and said, “Let’s keep hip hop alive.”
