A Florida woman is demanding that marijuana edibles be sold in childproof packaging.

The Pensacola resident Morgan McCoy says her 6-year-old daughter ate a THC-infused gummy at a pool party. Her daughter found a bag that was similar to a Hawaiian Punch gummy package with a piece of candy. Like any child, she ate the gummy and the fell asleep.

The mother found it to be strange and she ended up finding out that the candy had been infused with 50 milligrams of THC. The little girl did spend the night in the hospital where she recovered.

After enduring "one of the scariest moments" of her life, the mother wants regulations that would mandate manufacturers to put edibles in childproof packaging. The mother feels that if her child had eaten one more candy, her little girl wouldn't be here anymore.
