St. Pete Charity Wants You To Sit In A Prison Cell Without A/C
Did you know that most jail cells in Florida prisons don’t have air conditioning or ventilation?
A Florida activist group in St. Pete thinks that it’s inhumane and they’ve devised a way to show Floridians how it feels to be in a cell in the Florida heat. The group has set up a fake jail cell that is the exact same proportions of an average cell in a Florida prison. Visitors are encouraged to drop by and take the “Beat The Heat Challenge”, where they will spend 3 minutes inside the structure. Current Florida laws allow inmates to purchase cooling towels and straw hats from their respective stores, but air conditioning and fans are not available. The event is located at Allendale United methodist Church today from 11 am until 3 pm and is sponsored by Florida Cares Charity. Source: BayNews9.com
