Element in downtown Tampa, a 35-story high rise apartment building was evacuated early this morning because of flooding.

A fire alarm went off when a pipe burst and flooded the 27th floor, making water gush down to the floors directly below it.

The entire building, which includes 395 units was evacuated. We’re hearing multiple units are involved with water leaking on as high as the 27th floor and as low as the 12th floor or lower. At the moment the fire department is having trouble figuring out the source of the flow.

No injuries have been reported but residents were told to move their cars and the building is expected to be closed for several hours.
