After a study was done to find the most pet-friendly cities in the country, we have the results, and they reflect well on Florida.

Wallethub.com crunched the numbers and found that there are pets in 85 million households. They based the numbers on various details that include budget, pet health and wellness and outdoor pet-friendliness. With point values given to the many details the scoring system ranked the to 100 largest U.S. cities.

The top overall most pet-friendly city was Scottsdale, Arizona. Tampa was ranked #2 overall. Orlando was a fraction of a point behind in the #3 spot and St. Petersburg landed in the #7 spot. The next highest ranked Florida city was Miami at #23.

Tampa and Orlando were tied for the "most veterinarians per capita." Orlando and St. Petersburg each were in the top 5 in "most pet businesses per capita." Orlando had the "most dog-friendly restaurants per capita" while Tampa ad the "most dog parks per capita."

The least pet-friendly of the 100 largest cities was Santa Ana, California.
