Meredith Celebrates #NationalRadioDay By Looking Back On Her Career
Meredith Andrade has been working in the radio industry for almost 15 years and she said she can’t imagine working in any other industry. She started her radio career in Jacksonville, Florida while attending The University of North Florida for 97.9 Kiss FM.
She explained, “I remember leaving a class at UNF, driving home and hearing an advertisement to work at Kiss FM. Right there, at the stoplight I pulled out my phone and emailed the Program Director. I asked to sit down for an interview and see if any positions were available. I pushed to get into that building because I always knew I wanted to work in radio ever since I was a little girl.”
Growing up in Jacksonville and traveling all over the country she would constantly listen to local radio stations and call into talk shows to try and get on-air.
“I started at 97.9 Kiss FM and worked myself up from an intern to being on-air. After I graduated from college I applied for a job at 93.3 FLZ in Tampa and now I’m honored to work at Wild 94.1 on Orlando & The Freakshow having the time of my life.”
She continued, “Radio has been a huge passion my entire life and I feel so blessed to be living out my dreams, right here in the Tampa Bay area.”
