The weapon she chose to use to intimidate her victims was a bit odd. Investigators say the attempted robber removed her shirt and threatened store employees with body spray. Sheriff's Deputies in Lee County, Florida arrested 53-year-old Laurie Oakes for robbery. They say the woman approached a McDonald's drive-in window in her car and attempted to rob the restaurant with a bottle of body spray. The employee at the window was able to head-off the robbery attempt...by closing the window.
A few minutes later, the woman tried to rob a Circle K gas station in the same manner. Again, the woman was forced to leave wih no money. Lee County detectives later performed a search of Oakes' home and found the body spray and the woman, who had been identified by on-site surveillance equipment. She was arrested and charged with robbery. Here's her mugshot and a picture from the attempted robbery.
