A 33-year-old woman has died after a motorcycle gang shootout happened on I-4 at 12:15a.m. Friday morning when she was shot and fell off of her boyfriend’s ride.
The driver, 38-year-old Ronald Donovan who’s a member of the Sun City Disciples gang refused to help with the investigation. After police looked at the situation they determined that Donovan fired the first shot. He was riding along the side of two other motorcyclists at the time.
Sheriff Grady Judd said, “When along came two Thug Riders, a different gang, and passed them. Well, apparently that didn’t work so well, there was some skirmishing and driving at about 100 mph.”
Donovan fired his gun and ended up shooting one of the Thug Riders. The victim said after he felt a “sharp pain in the back as I was shot. I immediately returned fire.”
Ultimately, Donovan’s girlfriend was shot in the head, and she fell off.
“Donovan is facing charges of second-degree murder, attempted first-degree murder, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, tampering with evidence, two counts of resisting with violence and two counts of battery on a law enforcement officer.”
