Florida To Begin Using Digital Drivers Licesces
A secure, digital version of your driver’s license will soon be on your phone, according to the state of Florida. The Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles is adding to their digital realm. The latest step is the “Florida Smart ID”. It wil be a secure version of your driver license. Once the ‘Smart ID’ is launched, your license information can be downloaded to a smart phone. It won’t replace the license we’ve been carrying-yet. For now, however, users would still need to carry the physical license. According to a video from Fox 35 Orlando, the plan is to have the technology available within a month.
