Burglaries At Tampa Bay Pet Stores Lead Detectives To Dog Trafficking Ring
After a six-month investigation three people have been arrested in their roles in a dog trafficking operation after a dog owner was robbed at gunpoint in Orlando.
A man was walking his dog when he was robbed at gunpoint and they ended up taking off with his French bulldog named Bugsy.
Detectives in Orange County started to look into the situation said, “In their quest to find Bugsy, they stumbled into these really chilling activities involving these dog trafficking organizations so they found these criminals that would steal puppies and dogs from pet stores and in this case, from their families.”
Luckily, he was reunited with Bugsy six months after the robbery. Police arrested Ronnie Baker and Quantavious Williams for the armed robbery in Orlando and multiple burglaries at Tampa Bay pet stores. One of the places was ‘All About Puppies’ in Largo where they’d sell stolen dogs for cash or use them for breeding. They would even cut the microchips out of each dog’s neck.
