A teen from Deltona, Florida has been arrested after she stole thousands from her grandparents before running away.

Her grandparents noticed that their safe was left open and $15,640 so they called police. The grandparents told officials the girl has a history of stealing, using drugs and often ran away from home.

Cops found her hanging out at a gas station where she admitted to taking the money and gave her friend's mother over $6,000.

Deputies were able to track down 39-year-old Anna Marie Sikora, and admitted to accepting the money even though she new it was stolen and she was arrested.

"Deputies explained to Sikora that it’s unusual for an adult to accept thousands of dollars from a 15-year-old child who is a habitual runaway and has no job, and charged her with grand theft."

The 15-year-old was charged with burglary and grand theft.
