Sha’Carri Richardson Rips Olympics For Drug Double Standards With Ice Skater
Sprinter Sha’Carri Richardson is pretty upset at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics committee after they let Russian figure skater Kamila Valieva compete in the ongoing Winter Olympics after she tested positive for the banned drug trimetazidine.
They decided that Valieva will be allowed to compete and if she lands in the top three of her event then the medals will be withheld until an investigation is done.
In a recent interview Richardson said, “Can we get a solid answer on the difference of her situation and mines? My mother died and I can’t run and was also favored to place top 3. The only difference I see is I’m a black young lady.”
She continued, “Btw THC definitely is not a performance enhance!!!!”
The reason they’re letting the ice skater compete? The Court of Arbitration said Valieva’s age was one of the factors in the decision because she’s a 15-year-old. She tested positive for trimetazidine which is commonly used for chest pain but also increases blood flow to the heart. It’s typically categorized as a “hormone and metabolic modulator” by the World Anti-Doping Agency.
