According to Variety, Netflix will see if giving primary account holders the opportunity to pay an extra fee to allow other users outside their household access to the account. The company claims that the sharing between households is "impacting our ability to invest in great new TV and films for our members."
Here are the details about the new test plan Netflix is implementing:
OK, before you start trying to figure out how many of your friends and family are sharing your Netflix password, this "paying a bit more" plan is being tested in Chile, Costa Rica, and Peru. You can breathe a sigh of relief. Netflix plans to roll out this test in a few weeks. We will wait and see if it gets the desired results.
