Dad of Teen Who Fell to His Death Claims Operators Weren’t Trained
14-year-old Tyre Sampson died after falling from the FreeFall ride at Orlando’s ICON theme park and now the boys father is saying that the operator wasn’t well trained.
The teen was on vacation in Orlando with his football program when the accident occurred. His father says that Tyre knew something was wrong when he went on the ride.
He said, “He was panicking when he was going up. He was explaining to his friend next to him, ‘I don’t know man. If I don’t make it down, please tell my mom and daddy I love them.’”
A woman who called 911 said, “They didn’t secure the seat belt on him.”
Because the teen was 6-foot-5 and 340-pound he was turned down at all the other rides except for the FreeFall ride.
The teen’s parents did hire an attorney so this doesn’t happen with any other kids.
