There was a hit-and-run early Sunday morning (4/17) along U.S. Highway 301 in Dade City. Officials with the Florida Highway Patrol said white or silver sedan was going northbound, left the road, hit a traffic sign and then hit a 49-year-old woman who was walking on the shoulder. The woman unfortunately died from her injuries.
About an hour later, troopers say a pickup truck driven by 23-year-old Thomas Krummen was driving at a high rate of speed towards them. He ignored their commands to stop and drove through the crash scene, running over the victim’s body parts, authorities said.
That led to a 10 minute pursuit and a PIT maneuver to stop the truck. The driver of the truck is now facing a slew of charges.
