According to Fox 13 News, a North Carolina man who had won $10M in 2017 was convicted for shooting his girlfriend in 2020. The defendant Michael Todd Hill, 54, has been sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole. 23 year-old Keonna Graham was reported missing July 20,2020 after being seen on hotel surveillance footage entering a room with Hill after he had checked in alone.
A housekeeper later found Graham's body with a gunshot wound to the back of the head. Hill later confessed to shooting Graham after he found that she had been texting with other men while at the hotel. Three years before the murder, Hill won $10 million from a scratch-off ticket. After winning the prize, he then gave $2,000 to the cashier who sold him the ticket, according to WECT
