A Jacksonville man was arrested and jailed for 30 days after he accidentally killed his neighbor's rooster. James Nix said he was only defending himself after the rooster tried to attack him outside when he was walking around.
Nix said, "So I'm defending myself. You know, I was fearing for my safety, and the chicken, you know, died!"
Nix said his neighbor was so upset that he eventually called police who didn't do anything but then he called animal control and they arrested him.
"Next thing you know, he calls the chicken police on me," said Nix who went to jail for animal cruelty. "Chickens are dying every day, people at Churches, Popeye's, and Kentucky Fried Chicken. Really."
