Latto dropped her newest single “P—-” today (July 15).

The news of Latto’s new single wasn’t taken too well on Twitter as she used Roe v. Wade footage from recent protests. The overturning of the ruling is the theme of the song, and the Georgia native was accused of using the political movement for clout. Latto raps on the track, “How you ain’t got a p—-, but got opinions on p—- / That’s p—- / My ovaries ain’t for you to bully.”

The rapper clapped back writing, “Y’all complain about female rap lacking substance but then say I’m ‘capitalizing’ when I speak on s— [emojis] help me understand???”

“P—-” samples Betty Wright’s 1968 “Girls Can’t Do What The Guys Do” which was famously sampled in Beyoncé’s 2006 hit “Upgrade U” featuring Jay-Z.

In the music video, Rich handles the hook, Latto follows with the first verse leading in Flo Milli and Rubi Rose. Latto's lyrics match the raunchy verses by her peers as they rap about all the "nasty" things they do in the bedroom. The music video is shot by multi-hyphenated artist Teyana "Spike Tee" Taylor.

  "Sex Lies" is a slower sultrier track than expected from the "Queen of Da Souf." The song features fellow Atlanta native Lil Baby where they both rap about lies they tell in the bedroom. In the music video, Latto puts on a show hosted by DC YoungFly while Lil Baby and ex-girlfriend Jayda Cheaves take seductive polaroids in a private room.

  Sister duo Chloe and Halle Bailey have rappers Doja Cat, The City Girls, and Latto to remix their lead single "Do It" on their 'Ungodly Hour' album. Latto ends the remixed version of the song rapping about her looks, "Nothin' about me basic/And my body stacked like my savings/Rappin' 'bout that p---- power got the whole game intimidated (Hah)."

  Queen Naija taps in Latto on her song "Bitter" from her debut album 'Missunderstood'. The R&B songstress sings about being "bitter" after a bad break-up while Latto slides on the track rapping about she's her only competition and that her new man sees her worth.

  In the song "The Biggest" Latto raps about fame and not letting others bully her into changing. "The Biggest" was released shortly after Latto's name change from Mullato where the rapper decided to switch up her moniker due to backlash, "Mulatto was a negative term that I was trying to make positive," the Georgia native told Billboard. "We’re gonna start positive, and I feel like that’s gonna bring that energy my way. I feel like, in a way, that could’ve been holding me back, and I don’t want to attach that to myself anymore…"
• 4. “Muwop” ft. Gucci Mane, ‘Queen of Da Souf’ (2020)

  "Muwop" featuring Gucci Mane is another hit from Latto peaking at 40 on the Billboard R&B Chart. The song samples "Freaky Gurl" by Gucci Mane, taking its instrumental and chorus. The video ends with a tribute to Breonna Taylor. The track went certified gold in 2021.

  This groovy hit is different from her previous tracks but the rapper honed into her talent and made it a hit. The Atlanta native told Essence that the song is simply about having high self-esteem and asserting courage. "It's basically just this confidence, this strong aura that no one can tell you, 'You not the s--t. You is the s--t,'" she told Essence. "It's about believing in yourself – how you walk, how you talk, just carrying yourself like the person that you believe you are." "Big Energy" is her second Billboard Hot 100 entry, following the 2019 single "B*tch From Da Souf," which peaked at #95.

• 2. “Go Crazy” (Remix) Chris Brown and Young Thug ft. Future, Lil Durk and Latto, Single (2021)

  The original "Go Crazy" by Chris Brown Young Thug was a summer hit back in 2020 but in the upcoming year, Breezy and Slime tapped in Future, Lil Durk, and Latto on the remix. In the last line of Latto's verse following the theme of "going crazy" in the bedroom she raps, "Turn a one-night-stand into a happy home (Haha), on God." The remix didn't hit as big as the original but was still one of Latto's best guest verses to date.

  "B*tch From Da Souf" is Latto's platinum hit that made her a household name. The song was released as a single in 2019 and was later added to the Georgia native's debut studio album 'Queen of Da Souf' with a remix featuring Saweetie and Trina. In the song, she raps about haters talking behind her back and her Georgia roots. "I run it up, they busy runnin' they mouth/I'm a real a--, rich a--, b---- from the South." The song hit #95 on the Billboard Hot 100, her first Hot 100 entry.
