Tampa Area Babysitter Arrested After Burning Child With “Hot Pot” To Teach Him A Lesson
Hillsborough County sheriffs office said that a Tampa area woman admitted to using a hot pot to burn a 10 year old to teach him a lesson. Jennifer Posey of Sun City was arrested on Tuesday and charged with aggravated child abuse. Police say she was in charge of the 10 year old and other children at the time of the incident. She made the victim instant ramen on the stove and afterwards the victim was playing with one of the other children and pretending to spill hot ramen on her.
Posey took the pot she was making the ramen in, and pressed it against the victim’s arm “in an attempt to teach the child a lesson.” The child suffered a burn that was four inches. Posey admitted to the crime and has fully cooperated with the police department. Hillsborough County sheriff Chad Chronister released a statement saying, “Children will be children, but an adult should know better than to use such great physical punishment to try to correct their bad behavior. This suspect’s actions were intentional, unacceptable, and she will now face the consequences for inflicting unnecessary pain on a helpless child.”
